Chartered Institute of Arbitrators ¿Alguna vez has escuchado sobre la clasificación taxonómica y por qué los Camélidos Sudamericanos (CSA) no podrían ser considerados auquénidos?

Do expert witnesses get enough time?

According to global survey data findings published in our recent report, Party-appointed Expert Witnesses in International Arbitration: Effectiveness and Best Practice, it depends who you ask.

60% of expert witnesses want direct input when the timetable is set, but only 37% of arbitrators, 36% of external counsel and 25% in-house counsel support this.

The risks:
The tribunal doesn’t know the appointment date
Volume of work
Expert availability
Interdependencies between disciplines

What’s needed?
Late instruction should be viewed as a departure from good practice – not the norm
