#PAW2026 | Our partner Eric Franco FCIArb MSc will be a panelist at “Preventing Disputes Before They Arise: Strategic Tools in Investment and Commercial Arbitration” as part of Paris Arbitration Week 2026, one of the world’s leading events in international arbitration.
The session brings together leading practitioners to discuss innovative approaches to preventing investment and commercial disputes from escalating.
Eric will be part of a panel alongside Christopher Campbell-Holt (AIFC Court and International Arbitration Centre and IAC), Dr. Saltanat Imanova (American University of Central Asia (AUCA)), and Diana Bayzakova (Tashkent International Arbitration Centre), moderated by Anna Guillard Sazhko (Turkic Arbitration Association (TAA)), sharing regional perspectives on how different legal frameworks are approaching dispute prevention.
The other panel will be about innovative approaches to dispute prevention, moderated by Dr. Yulia Levashova MCIArb, with Marc Krestin (Fieldfisher) , Agata Zwolankiewicz (Addleshaw Goddard / KU Leuven), Nataliia Bertagna-Tuzheliak(White & Case LLP), prof. Kamalia Mehtiyeva (Univ. Paris-Est Créteil) and Dr. Hélène VAN LITH (ICC) as panelists. Laure Jacquier (ICC Netherlands) will share the conclusions and reflections.
This conference grew out of a OGEL Energy Law / Transnational Dispute Management (TDM) Special Issue that Dr. Yulia Levashova MCIArb, Agata Zwolankiewicz, Dr. Pascale Accaoui Lorfing, and Kiran Nasir Gore are co-editting: “Dispute Prevention in ISDS: A Comparative Perspective from East and West.” The research spans far beyond mediation and explores, AI in dispute prediction, political risk insurance, ombudsman systems, stabilization clauses, preventive diplomacy, and more. We look forward to its upcoming publication.
